Hola!
Feliz Cumplianos Rivkah! (that's happy birthday in espanol) I have been telling everyone in my zone and district that today is your birthday- I hope that it is lots of fun, I am sad that I am going to miss it!
Hello to everyone! I am doing better than good here the CCM- I am just loving it! I am no longer sick, and I just LOVE espanol! Thank you everyone who sent me an email, and thanks everyone else for supporting me in spirit- I can definitely feel all the prayers on my behalf as a missionary. This week one of our districts left and we got a fresh bunch- there are 11 of them, 8 elders and 3 hermanas. We were really excited to impart of our 'much' wisdom and knowledge of espanol... until we found out that they are an intermediate group. There goes our plans... ah well, maybe next time. :)
The meeting are wonderful, and the classes are great- and I can hardly believe that I have been here for over two weeks- crazy! This past Tuesday was a historical event at the CCM, for the first time ever, we had a tuesday devotional in the Marriot center- (and I left the CCM campus! but before you worry too much, I didn't faint... :) Elder Arnold of the quorum of the seventy spoke, and it was really wonderful! He talked about taking full advantage of our missions, and living so that we can report at the end of our missions, and lives, with a clear concience and no regrets.
My teachers are absolutely wonderful- I have two of them. Their names are Hermana Powell and Hermano Whittaker. They are each excellent teachers, in very different ways. Hermano Whittaker is good at helping us think through our problems and solve them ourselves, and always encouraging us to give our very best. He challenged us each to pray for a desire to learn the language, and I have continued todo so every night- and I am just loving it more and more!! It is fantastic! Hermana Powell is so loving, she is this tall, super tiny lady and is absolutely gorgeous! She helps us to learn from what we are studying and think of the needs of our investigators.
My companion and I are beginning to discover what it is to find companionship unity- and it is really exciting! I have lots to learn from her, she has a simple testimony of the gospel and I real desire to help our investigators progress. She is from Paradise Utah and loves horses. She even has one picked out to buy when she gets home.
There are five hermanas in my district (including me, we have a trio). There names are, Hermana Spencer, she is from Mesa Arizona, is tiny, cute and a redhead (she puts conditioner on her eyelashes too Ariel); Hermana Wilcox, she is from Layton Utah, is super tall and did BYU color guard, she also loves candy; Hermana Stanford is from Alberta Canada, something that she is very proud of. I am going to have her teach me the Canadian national anthem. She was really excited when I asked her if she would. She also really loves tape; Hermana Trunell (my companion) is really sweet, she helps me a lot. She loves her cowgirl boots, chicken (the kind that you eat) and chocolate. I like her a lot. And then there is me, who you already know about.
It has been really fun to see Grandpa Stan around, but I have yet to see visit his office! I will get there eventually... :)
My testimony is growing lots, I really feel the Lord's love for me. Last P-day, when I was sick, I had my zone leaders give me a blessing. It was SO beautiful, muy, muy bonito! In it Heavenly Father blessed me with peace and told me that He loves me and is proud of me. It was exactly what I needed- as a result I have been much less stressed and much more trusting. Another thing that my blessing talked about was confiding in the Lord- I have really been working on it, and it is SUCH a blessing. The Lord wants to hear from us, and not just words, He wants to hear from our hearts as well. I am really beginning to love Preach My Gosplel, or Predicad Mi Evanjelio, as we like to call it. :)
I would love to have everyone send me there snail mail addresses, or you can just send them to my dad and he can forward them on, I can't promise too much- but I would love to send letters!
I love you all, and I pray for the best for you!
xoxoxox- for the Hermanas only, I am a missionary, remember... hehe, I'm just kidding- for all of you. :)
